I wrote my first short story at age 7. "Betty and the Milk," it was called. I don't remember much about Betty or what happened to the milk, but I did figure out then that I wanted to be a writer. I've been doing it ever since.

I have reported and written hundreds of stories and counting. I write about community issues and community engagement practices, food, farms, food company start-ups and organic gardening. I have wrangled thousands of recipes into clear, readable form and written about them in a way that makes you want to start a shopping list. Interested in health? I have experience writing about nutrition, cutting edge surgical techniques and mental health issues. As an editor, I have worked on stories spanning murder trials, suburban walking trails and the national debt.

If you need it, I can write or edit it.
